Wellington Water Watchers
Friend,

Millions of Canadians are making their way to the polls to cast their ballots. It's an opportunity -- many say our civic duty -- to help shape this beautiful country and respond to the challenges it faces.

Thanksgiving was an opportunity to share in our gratitude for the bounty of the land and the preciousness of our waters. In the past year, Wellington Water Watchers has been working to open the dialogue around expanding the Ontario Greenbelt into our County, protecting and safeguarding precious farmland and the river corridors that sustain all life.

It is widely known that Canada possesses lots of water but it less widely known that much of it is not accessible or renewable, and that many Canadians live in water scarce areas, hence the need for stringent protection and conservation. If you haven't already, there's still time to contact your local candidates with this question: Food and water are becoming critically important with extreme weather events, climate change and the increasing global populations. What will your party do to ensure Canada's prime farmland and water supplies are protected for our food security and economy?
