Saturday, June 8th is a day of learning and organizing to stop the attacks on Ontario’s environment. Environmental Defence is bringing together community groups, NGOs, and activists from all across the province to build a movement that can respond to the regressive environmental agenda of the Ontario government.

The event will take place at the Bricker Academic Building, Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo starting at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast, lunch, and a networking reception with refreshments and snacks at the end of the day will be provided, and parking is free on campus! Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at https://act.environmentaldefence.ca/page/42479/event/1

The day will kick off with a panel featuring special guests Dianne Saxe, the former Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, Mayor Rob Burton of Oakville, Theresa McClenaghan, Executive Director and Counsel of the Canadian Environmental Law Association, and Tim Gray, Executive Director of Environmental Defence. They will discuss the changing political environment in Ontario, and what that means for the environmental movement.

The panel will be followed by a series of sessions aimed at identifying best practices and areas for collaboration, and building a strategy for tying all the work that we do together in one movement. The draft agenda is available on the registration page.
