We will learn about Blue Communities and how to use this incredible tool in the movement towards Water Justice.

We encourage a donation to support this work and help Water Watchers continue to host events like this one. Donations for this event will go towards Water Watchers Water Justice Movement building work supporting campaigns and actions such as the Great Lakes Solidarity Program, Watershed events and stopping Permits to take water for bottling. 

Event Background: 

The Blue Communities Project was launched in 2009 as a joint initiative of the Council of Canadians, the Blue Planet Project, and the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Maude Barlow was the driving energy behind the concept of Blue Communities as a critical step in linking the issue of water commodification, water privatization and the human right to water.
